Each Skill starts with a Research and Preparation section that outlines the work ahead and details what resource sites you will need to visit and read. You will also be told exactly what pieces of evidence are required to complete the task. Each skill is broken down into subsections and these again broken down into smaller sections until you are faced with simple questions to reflect upon and answer. Your answers are collated and automatically compiled into a working portfolio for eventual printing. To keep a perspective on how much information to enter you will be given an estimated word count and there are comments boxes for your tutor or mentor to leave advice on how you are progressing.

Initially you will be required to complete your personal details and CV. In addition to this you must enter your CPD record and upload certificates as evidence where required. This information is live and can be modified and added to at any time. Should you require, you are able to printout individual or annual reports. The Personal Development Portfolio contained within this section gives an opportunity to identify learning needs and set targets, the PDP automatically updates as you progress. Learning needs are recorded and reminders provided. Again, an individual or an annual report of your PDP can be printed if desired showing your learning progression with this developing document.

The most common method of demonstrating clinical competence is to provide a clinical case. The site provides you with a template for a presentation case to be completed. All you have to do is complete the sections anonymise all the details and upload your evidence. We strongly advise that this section is reviewed by your mentor or tutor as you progress and full use of the comments boxes is recommended.
